by Sr. Breda Gainey SSJA

Cornfields, corn-ears, hunger and need,
Versus "do not", "cannot", "must not" "take heed".
I desire mercy not sacrifice, just freedom and dreams
Not lawfulness, straight lines or righteous themes.

Hold what is withered enfold, love, draw in;
God will heal, love encircle and restore from within.
Freedom , like angels, are touches of God
Moments and memories, not shackles and rod.

So dream, dance, laugh and live fully I say;
God enfolds, cradles, circles each moment, each day.
